Septic & Sewage treatment tank inspections have begun, results show that more than half of the septic tanks fail inspection.
Local authorities target for inspections for the first year is 1000.
Out of the 420 inspections carried out up to Dec 2013, all over the Country by local authorities.

The reasons for the failures are as follows:
24%: Desludging
23%: Operation and Maintenance
17%: Roof water or SW entering the system
17%: unlicensed discharge to SW
10%: Leaking from the system
9%: Surface ponding.
